The Perfect Investment for the Future

Tanzanite is one of the world's rarest gemstones - 1,000 times more rare than diamonds, beautiful and unique. It is only found in one place in the whole world and it's this uniqueness that makes Tanzanite such an excellent investment as we will explain. The overriding factors driving economics in any free market economy, taught in any Keynsian economic theory school, is supply and demand. The current demand is growing rapidly, year on year, with an amazing threefold increase in value over the last six years.

Demand for this precious gemstone is seen to be increasing year after year, with its beauty, rarity and uniqueness being some of the traits being praised by gem collectors and jewellery makers around the world and increasing the price of Tanzanite in the process. There has been a scramble for positioning with regards to people and business entities for investing in their own Tanzanite collection that some people are said to have resorted to taking out payday loans and mortgaging their properties to have a stake or even just a piece of investment for this popular gemstone.

Tanzanite can only be found on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, at a place called Merelani. It is believed that it was the eruption of Mount Kilimanjaro which created the unique set of conditions required for Tanzanite to be formed and, as a result, the chances of Tanzanite being found anywhere else on this planet elsewhere are very remote due to the very rare conditions that were created by Kilimanjaro's eruption. It's this uniqueness which is the most interesting aspect from an investors perspective as there is only location in the world where it can be found and mined. Unlike diamonds and other precious stones and metals which can be found, all over the globe, in many different locations.

Tanzanite has been heralded as 'The most important gemstone discovery in 2000 years' and has already enjoyed a meteoric rise in the gemstone world in the very short space of time since its first discovery in 1967. Supply is already becoming increasingly limited as the world's only source is mined frantically to keep up with the voracious demands. The end result is that the stone is becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially the finer quality 'investment grade' stones. At the current rate of mining, latest geological estimates predict that there are less than ten years production left before the supply of all jewellery grade Tanzanite has been completely exhausted. Demand already greatly exceeds supply and when there is no more left to mine, simple economic theory dictates, prices will skyrocket very rapidly.

History has an uncanny knack of repeating itself - Paraiba Tourmaline, which was first found in Brazil in the late 1980's, was mined out by the mid 1990's and now costs an incredible US$20,000 per carat! Alexandrite, found in the Ural mountains of Russia a generation ago, and which is extremely rare in fine qualities, now also commands a similar price. Both of these stones originally traded close to the prices that Tanzanite does today when they were still being mined. Once Tanzanite is mined out, those who own top grade stones will be in a very enviable position. Tanzanite will be the quintessential heirloom of our generation - in the next generation the only way to possess Tanzanite will be to inherit it.

The current demand in the USA is especially high at the moment, and is being fueled by voracious marketing on the part of 'Tanzanite One', a Tanzanite marketing firm listed on the London Stock Exchange who, just like the Masai's, are avidly promoting Tanzanite as the stone to buy to celebrate the birth of your first child. This campaign is having exactly the same effect as De Beers' 'Diamonds are forever' campaign did on Diamond sales in the mid nineteen hundreds, which had the effect of making Diamonds synonymous with engagements and drove diamond sales through the roof. Tanzanite is also gaining in popularity in developing markets such as China and India - as the newly rich enter the gem market, they are being influenced by the same trends that exist in the western, and hence these countries are growing markets for Tanzanite into the future, further stimulating growth.

Current US sales are already up in the region of around $500 million a year and climbing steadily.

All these contributing factors combine to point investors towards Tanzanite as being a real 'gem' of an investment for our generation. What nicer and more beautiful inheritance could you have to pass down to your future generations?

The time to buy is now - start your own Tanzanite investment collection today and we know that, in years to come, you will be absolutely delighted that you did.

Tanzanite has been gaining even more popularity ever since the Hollywood block buster hit “Titanic” in which actress Kate Winslate wore a 'Blue Diamond' which in reality was really a Tanzanite.
